The role
Firefighters work as part of a crew, follow incident command, use service equipment, carry out rescues and contribute to prevention and public-safety work.
Training and development
New firefighters complete structured initial learning and supervised development before taking on the full responsibilities of the role. Learning continues throughout a firefighter’s career.
What we look for
Firefighters need sound judgement, teamwork, communication, resilience, practical problem-solving and the ability to follow instructions and act safely under pressure.
